My virtual workspace for the Mirage Volcano is almost complete. This has allowed me to really start thinking about the program as a whole. I've started my second draft at the top of the volcano in the primary eruption portion. Working on the eruption segment of the program is a lot of fun and very different from my normal process. Typically our work is more organized and controlled but the eruption has to be really organic, a little bit out of control and because of that I'm really anticipating getting out to the site to play with this segment. It'll be exciting to see how everything intially reacts and how it will evolve from there. There should also be some really great oportunities to use our equipment in ways that we normally wouldn't. -WET

Updates
Last week, the retaining wall at the C1 Cluster was poured. The rockwork for the speaker enclosure was also started. This week, the conduit will be installed. TWG needs to verify the orientation of the speaker frames before they are bolted in. -MGM MIRAGE Design Group
We were waiting on the egress doors and frames to arrive and began work on the wall this week. The wall is scheduled to be complete by the end of the week. The infills have not been inspected yet because the doweling detail has not been approved. THOR needs more information before inspection. -Hamilton Anderson Associates
At the end of August, our crane moved 20 fire shooters and other miscellaneous items onto the site. Lighting at the very top of The Volcano was also installed. -THOR Construction
Sill waiting on the status of fog manifolds. Bombard Mechanical is also waiting for the remainder of the hoses to arrive. New actuators are needed as well, but have 6-10 week lead-time. We'll wait for the actuators to arrive before moving forward. -WET
After receiving approval from WET to continue with guardrail, we are now moving forward with the rockwork and are in the process of blending the edge of the guardrail with the edge of the basin. -Rock & Waterscape Systems
